Daguan park is one of the most iconic parks in Kunming, offering amazing sunset vistas over Dianchi Lake and Western Hills. The park is a botanical garden in itself. There are seven main areas, including: Jinhuapu, Louwailou, Mindscape Garden, East Garden, Yu Manor, Lu Garden and New West Garden. These areas are divided into three regions organized by different ages: Historic Garden, South Garden and West Garden.

The highlight of the park is the Daguan Pavilion, constructed in 1680s. Its attraction is the couplet carved on the pillars written by a famous scholar in Qing Dynasty – Sun Ranweng.
