Drive to Shangri-la. Here we enjoy a walk in the historic old town with its many small cafes and bar. In the afternoon we can visit highest prayer wheel in the world, located in the center of Shangri-la. Those who want to improve their Karma can go wheel for it. A temple on the small turtle hill offers nice views on the surrounding hills and wooden houses. After a walk in the old town you will visit the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan, Sumtseling monastery which resembles the Potala Palace in Lhasa. Nowadays, 500 monks live in the houses around the three main temples.
